Website Tech Stack Finder

Detect 120+ CMS platforms, frontend frameworks, backend servers, hosting providers, JS libraries, CSS styles, and analytics trackers with version details.

🔍 Inspect Any Website's TechnologiesClient-Side Scan

Enter a website domain name (e.g., example.com or https://nextjs.org). The tool will fetch its HTML source code via a secure CORS proxy, extract meta headers, and run scanning rules to identify the CMS, frontend framework, CSS styles, JavaScript libraries, and tracking analytics in real time.

💡 How this technology finder works

  • Local Browser-Only Scanning: The entire inspection runs inside your web browser. We do not transmit or store scanned website URLs on our servers.
  • Double-Redundant CORS Bypassing: Browsers enforce Same-Origin Policies that block loading arbitrary site code. This tool tunnels the initial request through secure, fast public CORS proxies (AllOrigins and CORSProxy.io) to retrieve the raw HTML client-side.
  • Wappalyzer-Style Logic: Once the page is loaded, we parse the HTML tree and check it against patterns in script paths, link tags, CSS classes, meta tags, and DOM attributes to detect specific framework traces.

How the Website Tech Stack Finder Works

The Website Tech Stack Finder is a client-side diagnostic tool that reveals the full technology stack powering any public website. Unlike traditional scrapers or paid extensions that require accounts or software installation, this utility analyzes target web pages with real-time response header inspection and virtual DOM signature matching.

To run the analysis, the tool performs the following operations:

  1. Response Header Relay & Proxy Fetching: The utility tunnels the target website URL through serverless proxy edge endpoints (/api/scan) to retrieve both the full HTML source code and target HTTP response headers (Server, X-Powered-By, X-Vercel-Id, X-Azure-Ref, Set-Cookie).
  2. Virtual DOM Compilation: Once the HTML code is fetched, our script compiles a virtual DOM tree in your browser memory using the native DOMParser() API.
  3. Multi-Layer Fingerprint Matching: The engine scans script URLs, link elements, stylesheet paths, meta generators, custom HTML attributes, and HTTP response headers against 120+ technology rules to identify frameworks, backend engines, hosting providers, and software version numbers.

Key Features

  • 🌐 120+ Technology Signatures: Detects frameworks, web servers, hosting platforms, CSS grids, JS utilities, analytics trackers, payment gateways, and security suites across 10 categories.
  • 🏷️ Software Version Extraction: Extracts version numbers (e.g., WordPress v6.4, PHP v8.2, jQuery v3.7.1, Bootstrap v5.3) directly from header tags, script query params, and meta data.
  • ☁️ Server & Hosting Inspection: Identifies hosting providers (Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, Microsoft Azure, AWS CloudFront, GitHub Pages) and web servers (Nginx, Apache, LiteSpeed, Microsoft IIS, Cloudflare Edge WAF).
  • 🛡️ Client-Side Processing: Processes all DOM analyses locally in your web browser. No search queries, URL inputs, or parsed site data are logged or stored on our servers.
  • 📋 Shareable Markdown Reports: Format and copy the complete technology stack breakdown as a clean Markdown list to share in developer channels or project files instantly.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is my scanning history or URLs stored on DwellixTools servers?

No. All DOM tree parsing, pattern regex matching, and technology classification are executed locally in your browser. Request proxies route target site markup transparently without recording your search queries.

Why does a scan show Cloudflare alongside Microsoft Azure or AWS?

Major web platforms use Cloudflare as a global Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Content Delivery Network (CDN) in front of their origin infrastructure. When Cloudflare protects an origin server running on Microsoft Azure or AWS, the scanner detects both Cloudflare (CDN & Security) and the origin host (Microsoft Azure / AWS).

How accurate is the version detection?

Version extraction parses explicit version strings published in HTTP headers (X-Powered-By: PHP/8.2.1), generator meta tags (<meta name="generator" content="WordPress 6.4.2">), and versioned script asset filenames (/jquery-3.7.1.min.js). If a website strips or obfuscates version tags for security hardening, the tool reports the technology with high confidence without a version number.

Can I copy or export the results?

Yes. Click the Copy Report button at the top of the detected technologies grid. It copies a pre-formatted Markdown summary containing the target website details and tech stack categories, ready to paste directly into Slack, Discord, Notion, or code editors.
